What Is A Brain Injury?
Brain injury results from trauma to the head often from a road traffic accident or a fall. As the brain is involved in just about everything we do, a brain injury can have a very wide range of effects from concussion to complex movement, speech and memory problems.
Rehabilitation including Neurological Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy treatment is very important. This should commence as soon as possible and continue until an individual has reached their maximum potential, which may be achieved over several months or several years.
What can we offer?
The therapy team at SP Therapy Services understand the diverse and complex problems faced by a patient with a brain injury. We understand how a brain injury can impact on one’s ability to move and think efficiently, and how this can impact on family and carers. The key to continuing rehabilitation in the community is a thorough assessment by a skilled practitioner who can incorporate strategies to make therapy successful.
