Attention & Memory Training

Poor or slow thinking (cognitive) skills are common after a brain injury and stroke and can be very disabling for the individual and hugely frustrating for the care giver.

The key to improving a person’s cognitive skills is the education of the individual and the caregivers regarding the nature of brain injury and the common consequences.

Cognitive difficulties may include problems concentrating and remembering as well as difficulty processing information and planning ahead.

Occupational Therapists are able to offer advice and training exercises to either improve cognitive skills such as attention and memory or to teach compensatory strategies to overcome these difficulties.
